Bakersfield Acquires O’Bryant, Trades to Reno for Draft Pick
BAKERSFIELD, January 11, 2011 – The Bakersfield Jam have acquired center Patrick O’Bryant and traded him to the Reno Bighorns for a 2011 NBA Development League first round draft pick, the team announced today.
“We really like our team right now and this trade insures a promising future for next season,” said Jam Head Coach Will Voigt.
O’Bryant played collegiately for Bradley University and was drafted by the Golden State Warriors as the number 9 overall draft pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. The following two seasons, he split time between the Warriors and the Bakersfield Jam, Golden State’s NBA affiliate, at that time. During the 2007-08 season with the Jam, he averaged 16.9ppg, 10.0rpg, and 3.5bpg. O’Bryant has also spent time with the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors. Most recently, he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves 2010 Summer League team in Las Vegas and overseas in China.
