Suns History: A.C. Green, 1993-97
Green brought a winning attitude to the Valley, playing on a ballclub rich in power forwards including eventual Hall-Of-Famer Charles Barkley. Still he managed to average a career-high 14.7 points per game during the 1993-94 season as the Suns fell short to the eventual World Champion Houston Rocketsin the Western Conference Semifinals.
It is durability which Green will perhaps be remembered for most. On March 13, 1999 against the Vancouver Grizzlies, Green played in his 1,000th consecutive game as a member of the Dallas Mavericks. He finished the season as the NBA's all-time Iron Man, having played 1,028 consecutive ballgames and still counting. The only games he had missed in fact came during the 1986-87 season and were all coach's decisions behind Pat Riley. Green proved he held no hostilities towards Riley, eventually joining him in Miami and retiring as a member of the Miami Heat.
